Posted on September 20, 2008

We are thrilled to announce that one of our photos has been recently featured in the summer issue of the national publication, ELEGANT BRIDE. The photo is from Jaclyn and Richard’s wedding back in April at Casa Casuarina in South Beach, Miami. There has been interest in the photo from BRIDES UK as well, so we’ll keep you posted on that!

STUDIO OF THE MONTH

Posted on September 20, 2008

Shortly after we arrived here in Florida, Robin wrote an article about us that was featured the WPPI Newsletter, a professional publication. We were selected as STUDIO OF THE MONTH early on in 2005 after only being in business here in Florida since early 2004.

Leah & Jeremy’s wedding at the Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne

Posted on September 19, 2008

What a totally fun couple! If you haven’t seen them, check out Leah and Jeremy’s engagement photos in Coney Island, NYC in the ENGAGEMENT section of the blog. This should give you an idea of what a really outgoing, spontaneous couple Leah and Jeremy are. Both hailing from the South – Leah from Birmingham, Alabama and Jeremy from Atlanta, Georgia – these two southern charmers now live in New York City. They wanted a destination wedding and chose the magnificent Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne because they love the beach, but didn’t want their guests to have to “renew their passports”, as the bride said. As a South Florida wedding photographer, I can honestly say that the Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne is truly a photographer’s paradise. As you’ll see from the photos posted here, Leah and Jeremy were great subjects against the hotel’s many beautiful indoor and outdoor areas.

Leah’s gorgeous strapless, mermaid style gown was custom made by Reem Acra and her bridesmaids dresses were by Badgley Mischka. The overall look of the wedding that Leah wanted was “modern-day old Hollywood” and this was achieved by adding a white dance floor, among other touches. Xquisite Events handled the florals and décor which included a custom designed chuppah with 4 illuminated lucite columns with strands of white orchids and white orchid sprays

As a South Florida wedding photographer, I love to know the background stories of my clients and how they met. Leah and Jeremy actually met for the first time 8 years ago and dated on and off since then. According to Leah, the third round of dating was the charm and this time led to marriage! Their original meeting, however, was quite comical. Apparently, Leah met Jeremy’s mother while bra shopping at Neiman Marcus in Atlanta. Leah randomly asked her opinion of a red bra she was trying on! The next thing she knows, she is giving her phone number to this woman to be set up with her son (Jeremy). At their wedding, the red bra was on display next to the original photo of Jeremy that his mother had shown Leah in the dressing room that first day.

A special thanks to all of the people who made this wedding at the Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne such a smashing success! These people include all the girls over at the Ritz (Camila, Tiffany, Elda, Odalys) Sara Renee for her outstanding work in organizing absolutely everything and most of all Leah, Jeremy and their families for being so wonderful to work with on their most special day.

Here are a few from the rehearsal dinner

Stacy and Russell’s Wedding at Chelsea Piers, New York City

Posted on September 9, 2008

As a South Florida wedding photographer, it was my distinct pleasure to have the opportunity to photograph Stacy and Russell’s amazing wedding at one of New York City’s most versatile venues, Chelsea Piers. Located on the west side of Manhattan right on the Hudson River, Chelsea Piers is known among other things, for its world class ice skating rink, gym, golf facilities and also its catering and event section, Pier 60. I had a great chance to be a New York wedding photographer at this event! It was so much fun to be working in a different city and new location. I was afforded the opportunity to really get my creative juices flowing and create some really cool -- and very New York wedding photography!

Stacy is originally from Florida and several of her friends had me photograph their weddings, which is how she heard about me. Stacy selected Chelsea Piers for her wedding after falling in love with it at a wedding the summer before. Both she and Russell found the location to be very unique and loved the way the sun goes down while looking out at the magnificent Hudson River.

While Stacy was a Floridian until about 5 years ago, Russell is originally from New York, specifically Westchester County. It just made sense for them to have their wedding in New York City – and what a fabulous city for a wedding! As a South Florida wedding photographer, I am fortunate to be a New York wedding photographer every once in a while! I have photographed several weddings in New York and now have a huge number of clients who live in the New York area, so I travel up quite frequently. As a former New York resident (I went to college on Long Island), these trips to New York are particularly enjoyable! I love meeting with clients there and doing engagement shoots around the city.

All catering at Pier 60 is done by Abigail Kirsch, premier caterer in the New York area.

Thanks Stacy and Russell for the opportunity to photograph your wedding. I had a blast!
