Leah and Jeremy’s Engagement Shoot in Coney Island, New York City
Posted on August 28, 2008
This was truly one of the most fun engagement shoots I’ve done in a long time! As a South Florida wedding photographer, the opportunity to photograph a couple in such a historic place as Coney Island was a welcomed treat! For those who have never been to Coney Island, it is one of those places that just oozes with excitement. There are world famous rides, such as the Cyclone roller-coaster and the Wonder Wheel ferris wheel, delicious New York specialties like Nathan’s hot dogs plus all the usual amusement park goodies like cotton candy and ice cream. Leah and Jeremy were great sports when it came to taking photos in Coney Island – they were up for anything! We rode several rides, including the Wonder Wheel and roamed the boardwalk and beach as well. Coney Island is unique in that is is an amusement area that also has a huge boardwalk and beach. Sad thing is that Coney Island as we know it today will be closing down except for a few landmarks such as the Cyclone and Wonder Wheel and the surrounding area will be redeveloped with glitzy shops, attractions, hotels and housing. I am glad that Leah and Jeremy had the opportunity to do their engagement shoot in such a truly iconic neighborhood. I am looking forward to their upcoming wedding in September at the magnificent Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne in Miami.
Check out their unbelievable engagement video by clicking the link below. Jeremy works for Reuters, so he arranged for this very public proposal in the middle of Times Square in New York City. We think it is VERY cool!
I was in New York this week to photograph several engagement shoots plus a wedding at Chelsea Piers in Manhattan. So, this South Florida wedding photographer had a great chance to be a New York wedding photographer! I love photographing in New York – as a former New Yorker, I know the city and its outlying areas well, so it is second nature to me. Also, we have so many clients from the New York area that we always meet with clients or potential clients while we are there. I will be posting more content from these shoots – so stay posted.
Lisa and Tyler’s Wedding at the Ritz-Carlton Fort Lauderdale
Posted on August 18, 2008
Albert had a wonderful time photographing Lisa and Tyler’s elegant wedding at the ultra luxurious Ritz-Carlton Fort Lauderdale. The hotel, formerly the St. Regis, is very modern with spectacular areas all around to serve as backgrounds for great photos. Lisa and Tyler’s wedding at the Ritz-Carlton Fort Lauderdale featured unique floral arrangements by Raffi of Petal Productions, one the premier florists in South Florida. The Ritz-Carlton Fort Lauderdale is also in a great location, right across from the world famous Fort Lauderdale beach.

Ari and Matt’s recent celebration was the epitome of why a wedding at Frenchman’s Reserve is so special. As the bride described, the minute she and her fiance saw the Frenchman’s Reserve Clubhouse they knew that’s where they would marry. Frenchman’s blended Matt’s love of a spectacular Arnold Palmer golf course with Ari’s love of a unique and exquisite venue.
They planned their Frenchman’s Reserve wedding around the details that make this location spectacular – the ornate chandeliers, the huge bay windows that line the back of the ballroom, the grand foyer and gorgeous entrance table. Daniel Events designed the magnificent floral arrangements and created a ceremony site that mimicked a garden, using natural birch posts enhanced with live foliage and branches for the chuppah and completing the look with peonies and cascading ivy.
Ari looked radiant in a Monique Lhullier alencon lace gown finished with a latte sash and an antique broach with Victorian style that tied in perfectly to the ceremony.
Every detail of this Frenchman’s Reserve wedding was unforgettable, including the delicious food that was served! The most surprising delight came at the end of the evening when the guests were offered a candy bar, mini hot dogs, sliders, french fries served in cones and mini milkshakes!
Thanks Ari and Matt for the opportunity to photograph your spectacular wedding.
Albert had a great time photographing Michele and Daniel’s ceremony at St. Joan of Arc Church in Boca Raton and wedding reception at the Delray Beach Marriott. Weddings at the Delray Beach Marriott are lovely! The hotel is right across from a big, wide beach – very convenient and great for photos. It was a lucky day – the rain held off and Albert was able to photograph the bride and groom in infrared in some great spots near the hotel that make for some really beautiful photos (see below). J. Morgan Flowers did a wonderful job with the floral arrangements and there were some interesting musical interludes during the reception, such as the groom jamming with the band!
Thanks to Michele and Daniel for such a terrific day!
