Elizabeth & Alejandro's Ritz-Carlton Wedding

Posted on May 27, 2007

The Ritz-Carlton Palm Beach is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful venues in South Florida and the perfect place for a glamorous wedding! Having recently undergone a multi-million dollar renovation, The Ritz-Carlton Palm Beach has never looked better. Elizabeth and Alejandro’s wedding was picture perfect with the bride as radiant as ever. We had the opportunity to roam the newly refurbished property to take pictures in the newly appointed public areas, in front of the fountains -- everywhere we went there were picture perfect locations in which to create magnificent images.

The bride and groom were thrilled to take as many photographs as possible on their special day and their bliss permeates every picture. These two New Yorkers displayed their unquestionable good taste in selecting the Ritz-Carlton Palm Beach for their wedding celebration. The guests enjoyed a lovely outdoor ceremony followed by a cocktail hour on the patio terrace, overlooking the beautifully renovated pool and gardens. A reception followed in one of the Ritz-Carlton’s new ballrooms. The unique décor was created by the hotel’s own floral and design staff.

Of course, the Ritz-Carlton Palm Beach serves up some of the best food in South Florida, with food that is as delicious to eat as it superbly presented to guests. All in all, this was a wonderful party enjoyed by all and it was a pleasure to photograph Elizabeth and Alejandro’s most special day.

Diplomat Hotel and Diplomat Country Club

Posted on May 21, 2007

If you are planning a South Florida Wedding then the Diplomat Hotel or the Diplomat Country Club should be on your list of South Florida Wedding venues to check out. Standing where the old Diplomat Hotel used to be, the Westin Diplomat Hotel is one of the most modern and upscale wedding venues in South Florida. From its unique lobby, with its tall palm trees and unusual fountains to its double deck infinity edge pools, the Diplomat is the perfect place for South Florida Wedding Photographer, Jeff Kolodny to work his magic. In addition, the Diplomat Hotel is a beach front property, looking out on the glistening Atlantic waters of South Florida. It’s the perfect place to have a South Florida Wedding and South Florida Wedding Photographer Jeff Kolodny knows every picture perfect spot on site. If you prefer to have a country club setting, then the Diplomat Country Club provides a beautiful club type location that is also perfect for your South Florida Wedding.

Undoubtedly one of the classiest country clubs in the Fort Lauderdale area, the Diplomat Country Club is another unique South Florida wedding venue for South Florida Wedding Photography. Jeff loves working at the Diplomat Country Club and does so often. The ballroom lends itself to the most lavish of affairs while the outside grounds provide the ideal setting for photographing the bride and groom in the most romantic atmosphere. As far as South Florida wedding photography goes, both the Diplomat Hotel and the Diplomat Country Club remain unparalleled venues in providing elegant and lush backdrops for South Florida Weddings at any time of the year.

The beautiful ocean view and unique indoor fountain made the perfect background for Karine & Nolan's wedding photos.

For Alisha & Justin's wedding, the lobby provided the perfect modern background.

This outdoor fountain background in one of the hotel's more private settings was the perfect place for romantic wedding pictures.

Ocean Reef Club - A top notch destination wedding resort

Posted on May 15, 2007

In late April, we were fortunate to photograph a really cool destination wedding at the Ocean Reef Club in Key Largo, Florida. For those of you not from the state, Key Largo is the first key off the mainland – it is really convenient to get there and you suddenly feel as if you are in a totally different place than just the state of Florida. The luxurious Ocean Reef Club sits at the northernmost point of the key, affording it a quiet place away from the rest of Key Largo’s busy tourist areas. A unique and secluded resort, Ocean Reef Club is accessible by land, sea and even air, with a small airport only a few miles away.

Needless to say, this is the perfect place for couples planning a destination wedding. The privacy and beauty of the grounds, infinity edge pools, and ocean views make it a great place to relax before and after the big day! Ocean Reef Club is its own little town – there is a small fishing village with shops and bars, numerous restaurants and even its own little church where many destination wedding ceremonies are held (including the one from the wedding below). Most guests and residents get around using golf carts, as nothing is too far away and cars are barely necessary once you are on the property.

Pamela and Andrew’s wedding celebration began on a Friday evening with a festive beach party at the edge of the resort’s manmade lagoon. Guests enjoyed a buffet dinner and cooked smores by the fire as darkness fell. The beach party was a terrific hit with guests receiving lush Ocean Reef Club beach towels as they left at the end of the evening.

The next morning, I began by photographing the bride and groom on their morning run. Later that afternoon, I captured all of the moments of preparation for what was to be a destination wedding to remember! My wife, Robin, photographed much of the cocktail hour and snapped some detail shots in the ballroom as I finished all of the family portraits with the bride and groom. There is a large fish tank that is in the wall separating the ballroom from the lobby bar where the cocktail hour had taken place. In the dimly lit room with almost nothing but candles provided the light, the fish tank suddenly sparkled blue and provided additional light and splendor to the room.

The bride and groom arrived and the party began! Guests danced all night and ate the magnificent food that abounded. We were able to sneak a few really neat shots throughout the evening as we led Pamela and Andrew to several close locations right outside the ballroom that were too good to pass up. Check out some of the images below.

The bride's mom shows off the room decor and Ocean Reef Club's fish tank - doesn't everything blend well with her colorful dress?

Of course we couldn't leave without taking a nice long swim in the really unique infinity edge pool!

All the above wedding photos were taken on site at the Ocean Reef Club by South Florida wedding photographer Jeff Kolodny. If you are planning a South Florida Wedding check out our wedding photography at www.jeffkolodny.com
