Supriya and Josh’s Eden Roc wedding, by our photographer Albert

Posted on April 27, 2009

Recently, Albert photographed the spectacular wedding of Supriya and Josh at Miami Beach’s newly refurbished Eden Roc Hotel. Linzi Etzion of Linzi Events masterfully coordinated this event to the max! There was much to take into account in planning this event since there were Indian traditions as well as Jewish traditions to consider. The bride was Indian and the groom, Jewish, thus this was a wedding filled with many religious and cultural customs and brimming with excitement! Both Jewish and Indian weddings can be large, festive events with many interesting customs woven in throughout the day.

The décor, created by Xquisite Events, was most colorful with a distinctly Indian flair. All of the bridesmaids were dressed in matching saris and had beautifully color coordinated flowers to boot. Even the groom’s mother was dressed in a gorgeous sari. Everyone really got down and into the groove of this party, dancing to the hora during the reception as well. This was the “twist” to the wedding, which was mostly filled with Indian customs.

This was one colorful and terrifically fun wedding! Kudos to Linzi for doing an amazing job getting everything and everyone together and a special thanks to Supriya and Josh for having Albert there to capture their very special Eden Roc Hotel wedding.

Neha and Nirav’s Engagement Shoot

Posted on April 21, 2009

Recently I had the pleasure of photographing Neha and Nirav’s engagement photos at the beach in Boca Raton. We had a great time capturing the shots you’ll see here! Both Neha and Nirav were really excited to do the shoot and with the weather cooperating, we were able to really capture some amazing shots. Their wedding will be a big traditional Indian affair at the Breakers in Palm Beach. Both Albert and I will be there to capture all the festivities! We are both looking forward to working with Neha and Nirav on what promises to be a very special and very colorful wedding.

Jenny and Eric’s Vizcaya Wedding

Posted on April 15, 2009

Recently, I photographed Jenny and Eric’s amazing wedding at Vizcaya in Miami. In case you’re into football, Eric might look familiar to you – he plays football for the Houston Texans (yes NFL!!) The first thing that Jenny told me when I arrived was that Eric would be the biggest guy in the room! I had never met Eric in person before, and when I did everything made sense! He definitely looked like a football player! Jenny, on the other hand, was much more dainty in stature and was simply aglow on her wedding day. Jenny and Eric’s Vizcaya wedding was truly one to remember!

This magical Vizcaya wedding was perfectly planned by Leslie and Rudy Rowe of One Moment in Time, Inc., Miami’s premier Design and Décor company. Visit their website at: www.onemomentintimeinc.com The food was expertly prepared by the renowned Miami caterer, Bill Hansen Catering, www.billhansencatering.com. The spectacular wedding cake was the work of Ana Paz, a leading cake creator and designer in South Florida.

Each bridesmaid received a beautiful gift of pearl earrings, bracelet and necklace.

Since Eric is a really tall guy some very high heels for Jenny were in order.

For those who aren’t familiar with Vizcaya, it was built in 1916 by agricultural industrialist James Deering. Vizcaya Museum & Gardens features a main house, ten acres of formal gardens, a hardwood hammock and, according to their website, a soon to be restored a historic village. As a South Florida wedding photographer, I think Vizcaya is one of the most unique and beautiful places to photograph a wedding. Even for engagement shoots, Vizcaya has so many really amazing areas to shoot against, there is never enough time to capture it all. Vizcaya’s strong European feel really gives one the sense that you are in a country like France or Italy. The elaborate gardens and unique architecture render Vizcaya a one of a kind location for South Florida wedding photography.

This wedding is also notable as the groom is a well-known pro football player for the NFL. After playing college football for the Miami Hurricanes, Eric was drafted in the third round of the 2006 NFL draft by the Houston Texans. He played in 12 games as a rookie and then in 2007 he started all 16 games for Houston. Eric is entering his 4th season in the league this year. He is listed at 6’7” and 310 pounds (big player!)

Eric is really a gentle giant!

There’s no doubt that as a South Florida wedding venue, Vizcaya is one of the grandest and most picturesque sites. A big thank you to Jenny and Eric for having me there to photograph their special day at this amazing location.

Alyssa & Josh’s Wedding at the Norton Museum of Art

Posted on April 8, 2009

What a totally artsy wedding! Well, what else can you say about a Norton Museum wedding? As you will see, the Norton Museum was an amazing (and obviously artsy) backdrop for Alyssa and Josh’s recent wedding. I just loved photographing this wedding – it was my first time at the Norton Museum of Art, but hopefully not the last.! Having such a fabulous museum to photograph against just got my creative juices flowing to their max. Everywhere I looked there was someplace else really cool to photograph Alyssa and Josh. They were a gorgeous couple anyway, but having their wedding at the Norton Museum of Art made everything even more beautiful and interesting!

Daniels Events created the incredibly colorful bevy of bouquets and décor for the wedding. The band, Heatwave, rocked the party and the catering was done by the Norton’s in-house caterer, Lyon & Lyon. Alyssa wore a lacy gown by Monique Lhuillier and shoes by Prada. She was elegant head to toe!
