Keri & Adam’'s Destination Disney World Engagement Shoot

Posted on December 27, 2012

What a fun place for an engagement shoot! Keri and Adam are huge fans of Walt Disney World, so this was their dream location for their engagement shoot. We met up with them at the Magic Kingdom a few weeks ago, where we had a great time roaming around this amazing park taking photos. As the holidays were fast approaching, the Magic Kingdom’s already colorful atmosphere was even more festive, decorated beautifully to represent the spirit of the season. The lights were brighter and the colors more colorful!

The park is so expansive, that we walked around as much as possible to shoot in as many different areas as we could before darkness fell. This was perhaps the most interesting destination engagement shoot I have ever shot. Magic Kingdom has so many different areas with completely unique looks – from Adventureland to Fantasyland to Tomorrowland and more – that the range of possibilities for shooting is literally endless! We started near Adventureland and made our way over to the new Fantasyland, of course making sure to incorporate such icons as Cinderella’s castle, the Magic Kingdom train and the carousel along the way.

Keri and Adam were great fun to work with and I am totally looking forward to photographing their wedding at the Eden Roc next October!

Jennifer & Matt’s South Florida Engagement Shoot

Posted on September 2, 2012

What a great couple! I recently photographed Jennifer and Matt’s Boca Raton engagement shoot at the beach. As with many South Florida portrait shoots, engagement shoots at the beach are quite popular among my clients. This particular beach is one of my favorites, as it has more than just beautiful water and sand – there are many other locations within this park that make great backdrops for an engagement or portrait shoot.

Jennifer and Matt were great sports during their South Florida engagement shoot. The weather was hot and steamy, but temperature aside, we had a great time getting the shots you’ll see here. Working with them at their engagement shoot made me all the more excited to photograph their upcoming wedding this November at the incredible Cruz Building in Miami.

It actually can be more of a challenge photographing family portrait shoots at the beach, as there are usually more people involved including small children whose attention span is limited. While the beach is definitely a prime South Florida location for portrait shoots, there are some issues to deal with – one of which is wind. South Florida beach locations are beautiful, but the wind factor can definitely impact a portrait or engagement shoot. We always suggest that women bring a hair clip to help manage flyaway hair if the wind becomes a problem.

In addition to local clients like Jennifer and Matt, many of my out of state clients often request their engagement shoots to be at the beach as well. There is just something about a South Florida engagement shoot at the beach that is really appealing and out of state clients are especially drawn to this idea. It is a real novelty to many people to have their South Florida portraits or engagement photos done at a pristine beach location - especially if they live in a landlocked part of the country where there is no beach access. Having their engagement photos done at a gorgeous South Florida beach allows them to have something unique to display at their wedding and guests just love to see these photos. They are most effectively displayed in a custom sign-in book, which is a product we offer and one that our clients absolutely love.

Lindsay & Layne needed a few quick engagement photos for their save the date cards. We only had about 30 minutes so I had to work fast. Here are a few teasers.

Marisa & Brian’s Boca Raton Engagement Shoot

Posted on June 4, 2011

What a great couple to work with! I recently photographed Marisa and Brian at South Beach Park in Boca Raton. I love doing engagement shoots at this location because this particular park offers a wide variety of natural backdrops to work with. There’s ocean, greenery, a wooden walkway and much more.

Marisa and Brian were a lot of fun to shoot and I am looking forward to photographing their wedding at the Four Seasons Palm Beach next year!

Kyle and Ashley’s Palm Beach Engagement Shoot

Posted on March 17, 2011

I recently had a great time photographing Kyle and Ashley at the beautiful Society of the Four Arts in Palm Beach. They are both into the arts, so the location they selected for their engagement shoot was absolutely perfect. As a South Florida wedding photographer, I love to photograph couples at all kinds of locations.

Kyle and Ashley’s upcoming wedding at the Norton Museum is a further extension of their love of the arts. That venue is definitely unique for a South Florida wedding. It’s full of incredible artwork, sculptures and outdoor spaces. For a Palm Beach wedding, the Norton Museum is definitely a different option for those who are looking for something other than a hotel or do not care about being on a beach.

After all the fun we had getting all these shots at their engagement shoot, I am sure that we will have an equally great time creating amazing photos at Kyle and Ashley’s South Florida wedding this June!
